Gold Rush

Gents, buy your girl a gold jewel.  She’ll think it is heavenly – and she will be correct.

When the earth coalesced from unstructured materials (it was ‘gathered together’ from ‘waters’ Gen.1:9) it was an agglomeration.  The heat of particle impact and of various chemical processes resulted in the newly formed body becoming plastic.  This plasticity allowed heavier elements to sink whilst lighter substances, such as water, proper, floated to the top.  Hence, “, …let the dry land appear…. And God called the dry land earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he seas.” (Gen.1: 9&10).   Lest any should think this is robbing God of his glory by attributing creative power to gravity; gravity itself is a manifestation of divine power.  “The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars thereof” (Ps.75:3). This work was done by God alone, man as a physical being not yet existing.  Therefore the time taken refers to God, not man. God works according to his own sovereign time and purpose. “Are thy days as the days of man?”(Job10:5).   It requires more than twelve hours for multiplied megatons of conglomerate to plasticize and differentiate.  The third day was therefore of great duration in terms of human, or created, time.   Even if we wish to doubt the physics, the Scripture cannot be doubted : “Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth” (Ps.102:25).  The ‘everlasting’ hills.

As lighter substances such as water proper rose to the surface, heavy elements (and which is the heaviest element of all?) sank to the bottom – the core.  The upper regions were denuded of metal ores.  The metals of our core – mostly iron, but including precious metals – are sufficient to cover the world to a depth of kilometers.

Those precious metals of the early earth are not adorning any person’s person but they are not lost to the larger economy.

Their weight helps stabilize the fast-spinning earth.

Their unique properties, made even more unique by extreme pressure, are probably a factor in the earth’s magnetic field and in the interaction of the living realm with the mechanical realm.  “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” (Ps. 139:14-16).  Evolution, anybody?  Divine evolution? Perhaps with gold as a factor?  But that is another story.  If anything is ‘wonderful’, and the ‘soul’ [intellect/emotions] ‘knoweth it right well’, it is quantum physics – the mechanism by which pre-existing life was revealed –as the Scriptures demand.

The life that was yet to be revealed would not have a gold ring to place on its finger.   The ‘cunning’ workmanship of the tabernacle would have the blue, speaking of Heaven; the scarlet, speaking of Earth, the purple, speaking of One who is Heaven and Earth; but not the thread of gold, speaking of Eternity.

“The gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts” (Hag.2:8). There is at least one planet out there (not in the solar system) thought to contain diamonds.   Theoretically there could be planets of gold.  There are even vast bodies of ethyl alcohol!

If man was to be placed in the earth, the earth needed ores and precious metals in its surface layers.  They literally rained down from heaven. A few geologists had speculated along those lines and now measurement of tungsten isotopes shows that the metal ores do indeed post-date the oldest bedrocks.  The only possible source of supply is from above.  Of course this answers one straightforward question — and poses another question which relegates the first to the trivial.  Given that the unstructured materials of Space (‘waters’) which coalesced to form the bulk of the earth were not exceptionally metals- enriched, why, but, why, would materials enriched in metals then suddenly rain down, after the earth had been in existence for some time?

The answer was predicted years before this recent isotope analysis published in Nature and before it was accepted that anything much at all was added to our planet, subsequent to its coalescence.  It has to do with the origin of our own moon – which is exceptionally depleted in anything metallic.  Neil Armstrong did not stub his toe on any gold, silver, nor yet, iron, nuggets.

The planet that was divided or denuded to give us part or all of our moon, was divided intelligently, to also give us our valuable ores.  But that is yet another story. It all stems from – the Holy Scriptures.

When you get that gold ring, ladies – look up to the heavens.   And there was absolutely nothing the earth could do to earn it or deserve it.  In fact, we were never anything but a desolate wasteland, before we were restored and given not only ‘beauty for ashes’, but life, itself.

For the geologically minded: there is of course geologically young gold as well as old gold, (exactly the same) and this has to do with the restless earth re-cycling crustal materials, including gold.   There is an element on earth more mystifying than gold, silver, or any valuable metal — oxygen!  Oxygen is so active, it bonds to anything it can possibly ‘grab’. Roughly half the rock beneath our feet is – oxygen!   Theoretically there wasn’t any free oxygen remaining after the earth coalesced.  We should not have free oxygen!  Here is a theory not found in any science text.  Electrolytic decomposition of water breaks water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen.  (Hydrogen is the lightest of elements and as a gas frets away into Space.)  The early earth was at least partly shrouded in water and mists.

Would electrically charged raw metal falling through those waters possibly cause electrolytic breakdown of the water?
